You can begin training for Fellowship after completing your intern year or postgraduate year one (PGY1). There are three pathways for you to become a Fellow of our College. Each pathway has the same requirements but they are delivered by different training organisations:
The training provided on each pathway meets the requirements for Fellowship of the College and by extension, Vocational Recognition with Medicare Australia and Specialist Registration as a General Practitioner.
If you are an International Medical Graduate (IMG), you may be eligible to embark on our Specialist Pathway. It provides a pathway to Fellowship for those holding the appropriate recognised overseas general practice qualifications.
