Supervisors and teaching posts
The College's Vocational Training Program is a four-year integrated program of clinical learning and experience. All training must take place in accredited posts.
The FACRRM Vocational Training Program consists of three stages of learning and experience:
Core Clinical Training
Training for Core Clinical Training must be undertaken in a hospital that is accredited by the state or territory Post Graduate Medical Council or accredited by the College against the Core Clinical Training Standards for Supervisors and Teaching Posts.
Primary Rural and Remote Training
Training for Primary Rural and Remote Training (PRRT) must be undertaken in a post accredited by ACRRM against the Primary Rural and Remote Training Standards for Supervisors and Teaching Posts.
Advanced Specialist Training
Advanced Specialist Training (AST) must be undertaken in a post accredited by the College against the Advanced Specialised Training Standards for Supervisors and Teaching Posts.

Process for Accreditation
For AGPT pathway, facilities such as general practices, hospitals, AMS and RFDS that meet the required standards and wish to apply for on-going accreditation as a teaching post for any of the three stages of training for the College apply through the local Regional Training Organisation.

Doctors interested in providing remote supervision for registrars on the RVTS pathway apply through RVTS.
For the Independent Pathway (IP) facilities such as general practices, hospitals, AMS and RFDS meeting the required standards and wishing to apply for accreditation to train an individual registrar on the Independent Pathway apply directly to the College.
