The College continues to advocate for increased investment in rural hospitals and safe and respectful workplaces with a second media release published on the issue, and letters sent to all state Health Ministers, the Federal Minister for Health, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, and Minister for Regional Services, the Hon Mark Coulton MP this week. ACRRM Rural Generalist Coordinator June Foulds, based in Western Australia also attended the Spinephex Rural Health club last week, where approximately 45 future Rural Generalists listened to presentations and took part in procedural workshops.
College President Dr Ewen McPhee and CEO Marita Cowie are meeting with Minister for Education the Hon Dan Tehan MP and Minister Coulton in Canberra this week.
They will also attend meetings with the Department of Health and other stakeholders to discuss a range of issues including workforce planning and general practice training. Dr McPhee will represent the College at the Rural Roundtable, which is a forum for discussions between the Minister, senior staff from the Department of Health and key rural stakeholder organisations.

- ACRRM is attending AMSA (Australian Medical Students Association) Rural Health Summit in Cairns (21 and 22 September). We look forward to talking with future Rural Generalists and informing them of ACRRM pathway to Fellowship.
- ACRRM medical educators will meet for a content writing workshop on Tuesday 24 September
- The ACRRM Board meeting will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September, in Brisbane.
