The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) for setting professional medical standards for training, assessment, certification and continuing professional development in the specialty of general practice.
We also play an important role in supporting junior doctors and medical students considering a career in rural medicine.
We are committed to delivering sustainable, high-quality health services to rural and remote communities by providing:
- quality education programs
- innovative support, and
- strong representation for doctors who serve those communities.
The award, Fellowship of the College, is unique. With a FACRRM we believe you will be the best rural generalist that you can be.
As a Fellow you will receive full vocational recognition for Medicare A1 item numbers and you will have the freedom to practise unsupervised anywhere in Australia.
Most of our Fellows choose to practise in rural and remote communities so that they can fully utilise the scope of clinical skills and knowledge they've gained through attaining Fellowship of ACRRM.
Whether you’re a student or an international medical graduate, or if you’re considering becoming a financial member or a fully-fledged Fellow of the College, you can find out more about our various programs below:
