Having been born and raised in North Queensland, Dr Buck was destined for Rural Generalism. His path included training in the second inaugural intake of James Cook University’s School of Medicine, The Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway and ACRRM.

Having achieved fellowship with advanced skills in anaesthetics, he chose to relocate to WA and since has seen a varied and illustrious career in retrieval medicine, critical care, medical workforce coordination, medical career guidance and counselling, workforce and training innovation and development, rural generalist anaesthesia, medical education and training, medical administration and clinical governance.

His previous roles have included:

• Executive Director of Medical Services and Clinical Governance: SWHHS
• Director of Clinical Training- RFDS Western Operations
