The College has been invited to nominate a representative to join Cancer Australia’s Intercollegiate Advisory Group (ICAG).

Cancer Australia is the Australian Government’s lead national cancer control agency. ICAG is a Strategic Advisory Group that supports Cancer Australia’s national leadership in cancer control by informing national approaches to reducing variations in cancer outcomes; promoting the use of best available evidence to achieve effective cancer care; identifying collaborative approaches across the system to address cancer control challenges across the care continuum; and providing advice on emerging issues nationally and internationally to inform Cancer Australia’s work.

Membership of ICAG includes senior representatives from relevant professional colleges and organisations working within the Australian health system, and consumers. Cancer Australia will provide some remuneration for eligible committee members.  The College representative will be asked to provide a short report following each meeting.

Two meetings take place each year, with other communication occurring between meetings as required. Cancer Australia will provide secretariat support for the Advisory Group. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 11 May 2021.
