allergy assist™ is a free national online service designed to provide rural doctors with education and advice from clinical immunology/allergy specialists. This service aims to improve patient access in rural, remote and First Nations communities by supporting local doctors to diagnose, treat and manage patients locally resulting in reduced wait times for specialist consultations and minimising patient travel.
This valuable service upskills GPs and rural generalists by equipping doctors with resources and tools for managing allergic conditions, enabling them to provide better allergy care closer to home.
The evaluation of the allergy assist™ platform will assess the platform’s usability, effectiveness, and impact. This includes quantitative monitoring of platform usage and a user survey via Qualtrics.
Approval to conduct this research has been provided by the University of Western Australia, in accordance with its ethics review and approval procedures. Ethics approval number 2025/ET000027.
