Dr Vimbai Kapuya is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). She trained as a Rural Generalist in Katherine, Northern Territory. Vimbai did her medical degree in South Africa before moving to Australia. She also holds a diploma in Child Health and completed her Advanced Skills Training in paediatrics. She has a keen interest in medical education and has been a medical educator with Northern Territory General Practice Education (NTGPE).
She has been part of the ACRRM Medical Educator team for several years. She obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education through Flinders University in 2018. She is on the ACRRM Education and Training Committee, the ACRRM Respectful Workplaces Committee, and the ACRRM International Medical Graduates Assessment Committee . She has good knowledge and experience of the challenges faced in rural and remote areas, and hopes to bring better health care to our rural communities through training future rural generalists.
