About Heather Dowling

It's a privilege to be working at ACRRM. It's an innovative and dedicated group of people working towards a common goal, and it feels like you are doing work that matters.  The team here is on a mission to improve health care for rural Australians!

My family are sheep and grain farmers from Dubbo, NSW. I understand the challenges living outside the eastern seaboard poses for healthcare access, even in Dubbo, a large regional centre.

The inability to attract and retain doctors to the local area, reliance on FIFO specialists or telehealth and travelling thousands of kilometres to receive tertiary or quaternary care are all things my family and friends have had to do.

I'm passionate about the opportunities technology provides to meet some of these challenges and excited about making a difference in the quality and safety of care.
