About Dr Marina Parente Alberquerque

Dr Marina Parente completed her primary medical degree at the Federal University of Ceara in Brazil in 2008.

Before migrating to Australia in 2017 with her husband, Dr Parente was an Intensive Care Specialist in Brazil and was working with critically ill patients in both the Emergency Department and ICU. Marina passed parts 1 and 2 of her AMC exams in 2016 and 2020, respectively. She had been working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in both Dubbo & Broken Hill as an Emergency Retrieval Registrar since 2018 up until joining the team in Narromine. Marina lives in Dubbo and is currently training to become a Rural Generalist, under the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine training program.

Dr Parente started to work with the Narromine Medical Centre team in 2022 and is enjoying her transition from Acute Care to General Practice, as she received a warm welcome at the Narromine Shire Family Health Centre. Dr Parente's main clinical interests include General Practice in the rural context, Women's Health, and Chronic Disease Management. Dr Parente is a strong advocate for teamwork and her main goal is to achieve the best possible results for all patients.

Outside the office, Dr Parente enjoys spending time with her family (especially the baby girl she had in 2020) and playing modern board games.
