About Dr Danielle Dries

Dr Danielle Dries is a Kaurna Aboriginal woman from South Australia who has a passion for rural and remote health and improving Indigenous health outcomes. She has an extensive track record for promoting interdisciplinary care and the use of allied health services in rural and remote Australia.

Danielle is currently an ACRRM registrar in Dalby, Queensland and is completing her AST in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She most recently served as a Board Director of Indigenous Allied Health Australia from 2016-20.

Danielle was the Indigenous Health Officer on the National Rural Health Students Network (NRHSN) Committee in 2015-16 where she represented NRHSN to the Senate Select Committee on Indigenous Health and advocated for Indigenous health promotion and careers

Through her dual qualifications in medicine and physiotherapy, Danielle has built extensive experience in rural and remote health with multiple rural placements across New South Wales as well as Tasmania (Sorell), Northern Territory (Yuendumu) and Queensland (Palm Island, Rockhampton).

Danielle was awarded ACT Junior Doctor of the Year in 2018.  She has also represented the ACT in soccer, futsal, baseball and most recently underwater rugby.
