It was a privilege to hear Dr Louis Peachey present as invited speaker at the AMA Queensland Dr Joseph Bancroft Oration last week.
Speaking to the theme “And the truth will Set you Free”, Dr Peachey’s presentation spoke on the approach to the Sestercentennial Celebrations of Captain James Cook’s Discovery of Australia and “how the myths of settlement brings its own shadows over our ability as a nation to move forward together”.
Dr Peachey was the founding President of the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association, is a former ACRRM Board member and an advocate for Rural and Indigenous Health.
