The Implementing work-related Mental health guidelines in general PRacticE (IMPRovE) trial is looking to appoint two NSW Opinion leaders to work as part of a panel of Key Opinion Leader team, who supported by the project team, will deliver the Academic Detailing component of the IMPRovE intervention and facilitate GP engagement in the digital Community of Practice. Opinion Leaders engaged in the project will be remunerated.

IMPRovE is an implementation trial in general practice.  The primary aim is to implement the Clinical Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Work-related Mental Health Conditions in General Practice

Secondary aims are to:

  1. improve the health and return to work outcomes for patients with work-related mental health conditions in this study;
  2. evaluate the cost effectiveness of the guideline implementation strategy;
  3. develop an implementation plan for sustainability and national scale-up.

IMPRovE is funded through an NHMRC Partnership Grant. Our partners on this project are Beyond Blue, Attorney General’s Department, Comcare, Queensland Office of Industrial Relations, State Insurance Regulatory Authority, WorkSafeVictoria, WorkCoverWA, RTWSA and iCare.

Opinion leaders will be asked to:

  1. Provide academic detailing to GPs who are enrolled as participants in the trial; 
  2. Engage with GP participants through the digital Community of Practice; and 
  3. Offer guidance to the team about the appropriateness and applicability of the content that will be delivered through the academic detailing session and digital Community of Practice. 

Remuneration: 

Opinion Leaders engaged in the project will be remunerated at $200 per hour, and upon appointment will receive Affiliate Status with Monash University.
