The Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists is currently leading a federal Department of Health-funded project to develop an overarching pain management education strategy for Australian health practitioners.

The multi-disciplinary strategy will utilise current evidence-based information to guide and promote pain management education for a broad range of Australian health practitioners at all levels.

The project team is currently undertaking planning stakeholder consultation workshops to take place in March 2021 across Australia.

The aim of the workshops is to gain consensus with regard to the key principles and goals, which will headline the strategy. In addition, the workshops will inform strategy implementation recommendations. The team has invited the College to nominate a representative/s to attend.

The workshop for rural and remote Australia will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 30 March from 11:30AM-15:30pm AEDT.  Other options are available on Wednesday 19 March from 8:30-12:30AM AEST (QLD) or Tuesday 16 March from 8:30-12:30 AWST (WA).

Please contact j.johnson@acrrm.org.au as soon as possible and by Friday 12 February if you are interested and available to attend this workshop, outlining any relevant interests and experience.

This is a voluntary position. The College appreciates the support of members who undertake these roles on its behalf.
