The College has been asked by the Assistant Minister for Aboriginal Health, Senator Malarndirri McCarthy, to nominate candidates for her consideration of appointment to a new First Nations General Practice Training Committee.

As outlined in the Terms of Reference, the committee will provide:

• direction on the delivery of high-quality GP training experiences in First Nations health settings 
• support, attract and retain First Nations doctors in GP training 
• support, attract and retain more doctors and registrars in First Nations health settings 
• ensure that cultural awareness, cultural safety and responsiveness is embedded as fundamental to GP Training. 

Remuneration is available at a daily rate of $901, together with reimbursement for travel and accommodation.
