On behalf of ACRRM, I welcome you to 2024, hoping you had a joyful festive season and we look forward to continuing to support you and your region this year.

The College particularly acknowledges the hardship that many members, and the communities they serve, have gone through, and continue to go through, due to extreme weather events in the form of flooding, bushfires, storms and heatwaves during the holiday period.

We understand that members face personal and professional challenges during these times. We encourage members to make use of the supports available as you deal with the stresses of ensuring the safety of family, friends and homes while continuing to provide excellent healthcare to your communities.

While we recognise regions are still feeling the impacts of extreme weather, the College has resources to assist your community with managing recovery, including counselling services, available here

We continue to advocate on behalf of members in urging emergency service agencies, government departments, councils and other related agencies to include the skills and experience of Rural Generalists in their response and recovery planning.

Members have access to 24/7 wellbeing support though the ACRRM Employee Assistance Program for free. Call 1800 818 728 to receive immediate and confidential phone counselling support.

The College’s wellbeing coordinator Paul Townsley is also available on 1800 223 226.
If you are impacted and need to discuss any College-related matters such as professional development or training requirements, please contact the College on 1800 223 226 or email membership@acrrm.org.au for assistance.

Kind regards,

A/Prof Dan Halliday
