The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is proud to recognise Assoc Prof David Rosenthal of Renmark, South Australia, with the 2024 Distinguished Service Award for his five decades of dedication to rural, remote, and First Nations healthcare.
Assoc Prof Rosenthal, a Rural Generalist with DRANZCOG qualifications, has been an active member of ACRRM, serving on the Quality and Safety Council, Board of Examiners, Education Council, and multiple other committees.
He has mentored junior doctors and worked as a rural medical educator at Flinders University of South Australia, in addition to his role as Director of Medical Services at Riverland General Hospital.
ACRRM president Dr Rod Martin says Assoc Prof Rosenthal has dedicated his life to improving rural healthcare and supporting the next generation of doctors.
"His service has had a profound impact on healthcare delivery in rural South Australia and beyond."
Assoc Prof Rosenthal received his Distinguished Service award at the 2024 Rural Medicine Australia (RMA) conference in Garramilla (Darwin).
