The College supports initiatives to assist doctors impacted by flooding in North Queensland and encourages members to provide assistance where they can. GPs Down Under has established a Go Fund Me Page to support the physical and emotional recovery of doctors, their employees and families, who have been affected.

Organiser Dr Abby Harwood says funding is flexible, and the identified need may be anything from replacing essential equipment/consumables, a contribution towards rental costs for interim practice space/housing, or to support for childcare services.

The page will be open for 12 months and is supported administratively by the Rural Doctors Association Queensland (RDAQ). You can donate via their website.

RDAQ Foundation has also launched Rural Emergency Practice Payment Access in Recovery (REPPAIR). Funding of up to $5000 for individual GPs and $10,000 for practices is available to restore services and can be used for anything from replacing vaccine fridges to childcare.

REPPAIR is available via an application process designed to distribute financial support without delay.
