The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care will shortly commence the development of a Low Back Pain Clinical Care Standard and has invited the College to nominate a representative to the Topic Working Group advising this work. The scope of the Low Back Pain Clinical Care Standard will most likely focus on the investigation and management of low back pain in primary care and emergency department settings. 

Role of the Topic Working Group
Members of the clinical care standard Topic Working Group will be asked to provide advice on:  
  • The key components of care and the content of the clinical care standard 
  • The evidence identified by the Commission to inform the clinical care standard 
  • Strategies to encourage implementation and uptake of the standard
  • Update ACRRM as required, during the development of the standard
Proposed meeting dates 
There will be four virtual half-day meetings during the development of the clinical care standard. The first videoconference will take place in late July, depending on the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic. The subsequent Topic Working Group meeting dates will be confirmed at the first meeting. 
 
Remuneration 
The Commission will remunerate eligible members.
