The current release of Bp Premier product, ‘Saffron’, has the ability to record COVID-19 vaccination data including a valid serial number. While the recording of the vaccine data is now available, Best Practice is currently in the final stages of testing with Services Australia to ensure the vaccinations can be uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Registry via software to support the practices participating in the Phase 1B of the COVID-19 rollout.
Best Practice is waiting on feedback from relevant government departments on how the serial number will be entered into the software via the provided QR Code on the vaccine vial. Once determined, educational material will be provided to practices via standard communication channels.
In conjunction with the recording of the vaccination information, there is also a national COVID-19 vaccination booking system being worked on that will leverage the existing functionality made available by online appointment booking systems in the market. From a practice perspective, they will need to ensure their current online appointment booking provider integrates with the national solution and/or that their patients understand how to make a COVID-19 vaccination booking at their practice.
As this work continues, Best Practice encourages practice staff to sign up to their monthly newsletter to receive important product and industry related updates that may impact their practice.
