THIS WAY UP’s internet-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (iCBT) Foundations course for clinicians has recently been accredited by ACRRM. The course was developed by the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD), a joint initiative from St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and the University of NSW.

The multidisciplinary team at CRUfAD developed THIS WAY UP to provide better access to evidence-based treatments. The programs have been tested in over 30 randomised-controlled trials. iCBT is listed in the clinical practice guidelines as a first line treatment option in the management of both anxiety disorders and mood disorders.

Over 6 modules, clinicians will become familiar with the core skills involved in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy while gaining confidence with integrating online mental health treatments into routine care.

iCBT Foundations for Clinicians is accredited for 6 ACRRM CPD hours and is free for all College members here. The modules include:

  • Introduction to the Cognitive Behaviour Model
  • Breathing and Relaxation
  • Thought Challenging
  • Structured Problem Solving
  • Behavioural Activation
  • Graded Exposure

Registering on the THIS WAY UP site allows clinicians to prescribe any of the 18 tailor-made treatment programs for free and includes access to a range of evidence-based education and clinician resources. The tailor-made programs include Managing Insomnia, Mixed Anxiety and Depression, Chronic Pain, Coping with Stress, Mindfulness-based CBT, Health Anxiety and two Perinatal programs.
