The Australian Society for Psychological Medicine (ASPM) is launching another Focused Psychological Strategies Skill Training ‘Level 2’ series on 21-22 August 2021, delivered online by GP’s for GP’s. The training is accredited with ACRRM for 14 Educational activity hours and 6 Performance review hours, and is recognised as a Focused Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST) activity. The training is delivered online with follow-up through case consultations with ASPM’s skilled facilitators.
This training assists GP’s who struggle with mental health patients and provides transferable skills that can be utilised in everyday practice. This course provides a wide variety of high quality, online and free resources. Most of these come from the rich suite of resources produced by universities and other mental health research and advocacy organisations in Australia. A comprehensive reading list is provided to develop greater depth in particular areas of interest.
Each module in the ASPM FPS training will introduce foundational information and skills, and provide links to resources for further development and psycho-education for patients in any of the domains that are of interest.
The ASPM facilitators are experienced GP psychotherapists who deliver highly interactive and practical training.
ASPM Members can undertake the training for $1450. Non-Members cost is $1650, which includes membership to ASPM allowing for future discounts to all ASPM training and events.
