The College has been invited to nominate candidates for consideration for membership of this Committee, which was established in 2017 to support implementation of the Queensland Sexual Health Strategy 2016-2021.
The Committee is seeking an additional member from general practice in a rural/regional remote setting of Queensland.
This is a voluntary role which would suit an experienced Fellow who is currently working in a primary care setting and may have a particular interest in health promotion and sexual and reproductive healthcare.
Meetings are held quarterly (12:30 - 4:30pm on a Thursday in Feb, May, Aug and Nov) either in-person or via videoconference. There are further opportunities to participate in other Committee events and activities as required (typically an all-day stakeholder engagement forum annually, plus voluntary participation in subcommittee work). The Committee is supported by a departmental Secretariat (Sexual Health Strategy team, Communicable Diseases Branch, Department of Health).
The successful candidate will have their meeting and event travel expenses met and will be remunerated in accordance with relevant Government policy (currently daily sitting fees $300 for meetings over 4 hours, 50% of that for 4 hours and under).
If you are interested in taking on this role, please contact j.johnson@acrrm.org.au, by Monday, 13 December, attaching a short bio and CV. Any appointment will be subject to Ministerial approval.
