The Minister for Health and Ambulance Services invites interested persons from a wide range of professional backgrounds to apply for membership of the inaugural Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board.
The board will be required to independently oversee the scheme, including monitoring compliance with the Act and reporting on the scheme. The board does not have any governing functions over the departmental unit established to administer the legislation but will be supported by a secretariat from the department. The board will meet monthly.
The board’s other functions include providing annual reports about voluntary assisted dying and making recommendations about systemic matters.
This Expression of Interest information pack provides further information for potential applicants seeking to be appointed to the board.
Applications close on 13 April.
