The College has been invited to nominate two representatives to participate in stakeholder consultations for an evaluation of the Better Access initiative

The forum will gather input from a broad range of stakeholders including:

  • representatives from professional associations representing service providers who do currently provide Better Access funded services, and those that do not
  • representatives from consumer and lived experience advocacy organisations
  • policy makers and sector representatives.

Consultation will take place via a virtual consultative forum which has three phases (this will be conducted over a period of 5 weeks, commencing in late August):

  1. Online survey to determine the most important features of Better Access
  2. Online written discussion forum where participants will discuss in more depth the features identify in the first step
  3. A second survey where participants will rate the final set of features in order of importance for improving the Better Access program going forward.

The process may take from one to a maximum of four hours depending on how much participants wish to contribute.

ACRRM is seeking clinical representatives who can provide perspectives reflecting the diversity of Better Access users and mental health service providers.

Please contact policy@acrrm.org.au by Friday, 5 August, if you are interested in assisting the College by taking on this role. A short outline of any relevant experience, including any involvement with the Better Access program, would be useful.

Contact j.johnson@acrrm.org.au if you would like to discuss this role or require further information.
